Math Counts
Description: The competition consists of four stages: school, chapter, state, and national. As students advance, the difficulty of the problems increases. Perfect scores are more common at the school level but rarely achieved at the national level. Each school can register up to ten students, with four designated as the official school team.

Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC)
Description: The Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is an exciting annual competition for students in grades 9-12, where they design and launch model rockets. Sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Association of Rocketry, this event encourages students to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills while learning about aerospace engineering.

Biomedical HOSA
Description: HOSA offers 58 competitive events, covering skills, leadership, and team activities. The events are divided into four categories: Health Science, Health Professions, Leadership, and Recognition. Members compete at regional, state, and international levels. Students who place in the top three at the state competition get the chance to compete internationally.

VEX IQ
Description: VEX Robotics is a hands-on robotics program for middle school designed to inspire interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Participants design, build, and program robots to compete in challenges that test their problem-solving, teamwork, and engineering skills. The program is managed by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC) and is a part of Innovation First International.

VEX Robotics
Description: VEX Robotics 5 is a club for students where members design, build, and program robots to compete in challenging competitions. Students work together to solve problems, improve their engineering skills, and apply knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The club fosters teamwork, creativity, and innovation, offering hands-on experience in robotics and preparing students for future STEM careers.

HPS Drone Competition
Description: HPS-wide/ Regional Competition - Presented in partnership with FTW Robotics and Rice University, HPS Drone Race is the perfect event offering elementary, middle school and high school students an opportunity to get hands-on experience in STEM education in the form of an affordable, fast-paced game. Students will learn to safely operate a drone, work as a team, and research workforce applications of aerial robotic technology; all while having a blast!

3D Printing Competition
Description: In the 3D Printing Club, students will learn how to design and create three-dimensional objects using additive manufacturing technology. They will explore different 3D printing methods, work with various materials, and use design software to bring their ideas to life. Through hands-on projects, students will gain experience in problem-solving, engineering, and creativity while learning how 3D printing is used in real-world industries.

Purpose: The University Interscholastic League, the main governing body for academic, athletic, and music competition among public schools in the U.S. state of Texas, sanctions many events for students in grades 2 to 12.

National History Day
Description: The annual theme is usually a phrase ending with "in history" and is often an alliteration, such as, "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History." The theme frames students’ research within a historical theme.
The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to
ancient history or to the more recent past. The 2020 theme was Breaking Barriers in History," and the 2021
theme is Communication in History: The Key to Understanding. "The intentional selection of the theme
for the National History Day Contest is to provide an opportunity for students to push past the antiquated
view of history as mere facts and dates and drill down into historical content to develop perspective and understanding.

Description: A spelling bee is a popular spelling competition that you can hold with your students in primary school. A spelling bee is a contest / game to put spelling skills to the test. When hosting a spelling bee, students are given words that they must attempt to spell correctly out loud.

Yearbook
Description: The Yearbook Club is responsible for creating and designing the school’s yearbook. Students in the club will take on roles such as photographers, writers, editors, and designers to help capture the memories and highlights of the school year. Board Games Club - Chess
Description: The club offers students the opportunity to expand their strategic knowledge and critical thinking skills by providing a safe, fun, and friendly location and atmosphere to gather and play various chess. Playing a variety of board games will help students develop their ability to solve problems, their sense of self, and their sense of sportsmanship.

STEM Investigation Club
Description: STEM Clubs are a great way to support the curriculum and provide opportunities for young people to have fun, be creative and expand subject knowledge and awareness of the role these subjects have in the world around them.
CSI Club explores how science, observation, and logic come together to solve real-world crimes. Through hands-on simulations and real case studies, students will investigate how forensic science, drawing from biology, chemistry, physics, and data analysis, is used in modern investigations. The club also examines the history of forensic techniques, how evidence is processed within the legal system, and the STEM skills essential to careers in forensic science, law enforcement, and criminal justice.
Please note: Club topics may include sensitive or mature content as it relates to crimes and investigations. All material will be presented and discussed in a respectful, age-appropriate, and educational manner.

Description: Creative writing is any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes or with various traditions of poetry and poetics.

Description: This club teaches kids how to follow a recipe. Students will learn to measure, cut, chop, and prepare meals. They learn how to save money at the grocery store and how to shop.

Please complete the registration form in the link below. All clubs and athletic teams have a $50 fee and additional fees may apply for items such as uniforms and competitions. Fee waivers may be available for eligible families for the $50 fee only. Please visit the front office for the fee waiver application. Make sure to contact the coach before paying the fee as there may be limited space and tryouts may be required.
It's worth noting that participating in athletics can require a significant time commitment, as regular practice is often necessary to develop skills, improve performance, and prepare for competitions. In some cases, athletes may have limited availability for other extracurricular activities or clubs due to their training and competition schedules.
